Chantilly Birthday Card

Here's a quick birthday card using the Chantilly paper pack. The banner is cut with the Cricut Artiste cartridge. The stamp is part of the Artiste collection. I used twilight ink and a strip of twilight paper.

Chantilly Card Kit

Here's another sneak peak at what will be coming in the new Idea Book coming out on Friday. This card kit has supplies and instructions to make 15 cards- 5 of each of the 3 designs.

When all done with the kit, you will have some left over paper and a wonderful stamp set. I especially love the cake stamp. Then you can use this stamps over and over with other paper to make a totally new card.

This card was made by my team leader, Linda Sturdivant (http://lindasturdivant.blogspot.com/). Linda used the stamp set and recipe from the Chantilly card kit and made a different card by using different papers and inks.

Buzz and Bumble Layout

I am very excited about the new Close To My Heart Idea Book that comes out on Friday. I have had a lot of fun playing with some of the new products. Every day for the next week I will post a project made with some of the new products.

This layout is made with the Buzz and Bumble Workshop on the Go kit (G1054). The workshop on the go kits give you everything you need for 2  2 page layouts with plenty of extras left over. There is a stamp set included that you can only get in the kits. I love this stamp set. The flower is really lovely and the "wonderful, beautiful day" stamp will be used on many cards. The workshop on the go kits come with a recipe guide for the layouts with cutting guides. It is easy to make changes to fit your pictures and your style. These kits make scrapbooking easy.

If you would like a new Idea Book, let me know. I charge $2 per book or free when you place an order. On Friday, the new Idea Book will be online and you can order anything you like.

Be sure to have fun with paper today!

Coffee Anyone?

I was looking at some old photos that I haven't scrapped yet and came across these. Those two little girls are now 16! I was so excited to see these photos. When we lived in Oakland, we would go out to coffee after church on Sunday morning. The kids would have bagels and hot chocolate. My oldest always called her  hot chocolate her coffee so she could be like mom and dad. We loved our Sunday morning ritual. I guess I took pictures on this particular Sunday because my niece and nephew were with us. I'm glad I scrapped these photos and was able to document our tradition (written on a box hidden behind one of the pictures).

Supplies:
La Belle Vie paper pack (X7158B)- retiring at the end of the month
Trinity Alphabet stamp set (E1021)
Cup of Cheer stamp set (B1404)
Smokey Plum and Blush inks

Valentines

You can do so much with the Whooo's Your Valentine kit.

With the pink valentine, I used the stamp set that comes with the set. I cut the disc using the Cricut Artiste cartridge (page 50, 1 inch).  I filled the tube with valentine M&Ms.

The Cup of Cheer stamp set (B1404) was used on the coffee valentine. The tube is filled with beans.

The kit comes with a stamp set, paper, boxes and tubes. Plus the stamp set is so cute, you will use it again and again. All for just $10 with a $35 purchase.

This 3x3 card is made with the La Belle Vie paper pack and uses the stamp set from Whooo's Your Valentine.

The possibilities are endless. This kit is only available through the end of the month. Be sure to order it before they are all gone and have fun with paper today!

Showcasing My Photos

After many years, my family had a professional photography take photos. I take a lot of photos and am usually satisfied with those. The only problem is-- I am never in them. I have wonderful shots of my three together. I take a group shot every where we go. But a picture with all five of us-- almost never. When we do get one together, it isn't very good. So, I finally hired a professional, and I can't tell you how happy I am with these pictures!

Since they were taken at the end of November, I have been finding ways to showcase these photos. One way is using the My Creations Memory Showcase (Z1195). This is a 6x6 accordion style album with just 6 pages. It perfectly acts as an album or a display on a table. I made one for my mother in law.

Here it is standing up. All four pages can be seen.

Close up of the the four pages and my beautiful kids. There are two pages on the back as well.

Finally the front cover of the album with all five of us.

I used the Avonlea paper pack (X7155B) and actually very little of it. The pictures are the main focus of the album. I just used a little paper to highlight them. It worked very well.  The "Family" title comes from the Avonlea Complements Canvas Shapes pack (X7155C). I also used a little chocolate ink to edge the paper.

I will wrap this up with a ribbon and mail it off to my mother in law. I am sure she will be very happy with this  gift and will be showing it off to her friends soon.

Happy New Year!

While I was celebrating New Year's Eve last night, I snuck away from the party and quickly made up my 2013 journal. In the past I have written my intentions in a journal and tracked my progress or lack thereof. I haven't done that in a couple of year so I wanted to make sure I did it this year. This year, I used the My Creations Canvas Journal (Z1774). When I realized that I hadn't decorated my journal yet, I went into the craft room and quickly put it together. The only plan I had was to have 2013 in the ghost image down the book. That was done using a second generation stamp-- I inked up the stamp, stamped in on scratch paper, then stamped the book without reinking. I do like how that come out. However, now that I am more awake, I'm not sure I like the ribbon I choose. That may change in the next few days.

All in all, I am happy I have my journal ready. Before turning out the light last night, I wrote a page of things I hope for in the coming year. I will be writing in it on a regular basis all year and hopefully noting the progress toward my goals.

Hope you all have a Happy 2013 and be sure to have fun with paper all year long!
