Setting Goals

As I walked around the lake this morning, my mind started wandering to my goals for the week. I was tempted to take out my phone and start going over my list, but I kept walking, knowing that I needed to keep on task. Besides working on my goal to walk four times per week, my walk around the lake gave me time to clear my head and clarify what I need to accomplish this week. I stopped at Starbucks on my way home, pulled out my phone, and added my notes while I sipped my mocha.

I use Toodledo (http://www.toodledo.com/) to keep me on task. I have my list of goals and tasks for all aspects of my life including scrapbooking.  It is an easy to use site that syncs with my windows phone. I have noticed that if I ignore my list, I am not as productive.

So, here are my goals for this week:

1.     Print photos and decide on papers, stamps, etc. for Saturday's Club CTMH crop.

2.     Make 10 cards for swap.

3.     Take photos for project 365. I actually need to schedule this or at 9:30 I realize I haven't taken any photos and end up taking one of one of the cats. It is much easier to have it on my list as a reminder, take several during the day, then pick one photo that represents the day for the album.

4.     Schedule another workshop for April. Working my CTMH business is part of my crafting life. My scrapbooking goals and business goals sometimes intermingle. Making sure I have a healthy business gives me an excuse to scrapbook more and gives me the extra money I need to buy all that wonderful paper and ink.

5.     Finish the Yosemite layout that I began on Saturday.

6.     Update journalling document for my project 365.

I have my tasks listed for the week and  I have added on my calendar time to work on them. Now I challenge you to make your crafting goals and schedule it.

Good luck and happy crafting!

Victory Layout

Scrapbooking with Mer, I worked on a layout for my project 365. I have 2 days represented on this layout which is all about my youngest. I added a paragraph all about his favorites and least favorite things today. Since these things change so often with kids, I want to make sure I write that in the album every once in a while.

I used the Victory Paper Pack (X1750B). I wasn't sure about this paper pack originally. But since I have two boys, I thought I had better check it out. Now that I have worked with it, I do like it and will continue to use the paper. I really love the cream colored ledger paper which I used for the journalling block.

You might try sanding the edges of your pictures as I have done here. It gives the photo a rugged look.

The title is done with the Eclectic Alphabet (Z1395) inked with Outdoor Denim ink. I love ink! Look at my fingers.

Most people can ink up paper without getting it all over. But not me. You can always tell when I have been playing with ink.

Now, back to my pages. I think I might try to get another page done tonight.

Pemberley Card Workshop coming up

Scrapbook Expo is over-- and by the way, I had a great time at Expo. It was wonderful meeting so many people interested in Scrapbooking.  Now that the Expo is over, I am ready to concentrate on my workshop coming up this week. We are going to be making 3 cards and 2 3-D projects using the Pemberley paper.

Here is one of the cards. Of course I am using a lot of cuts from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. I still have a couple more spaces for the workshop. It's just $10. Plus you will be rebated $5 if you place an order that evening of $30 or more. Workshop is Thursday, March 22 at 7:00 at my home in Fremont. Email me (cathryno@gmail.com) to sign up.

Other workshops I have coming up is a free Cricut workshop on April 11 and then a Florentine card workshop on April 17.  More info about those later.

Would you be interested in hosting a workshop? Card or scrapbooking? Just let me know. I'm happy to come to you with the workshop all ready. With a minimum number of guests, you don't pay for the workshop and you also will receive hostess rewards for sales. It's a win-win and a lot of fun! I love going to different places to do workshops. I meet so many fun people who love to craft.

Happy Crafting everyone!

Getting Ready for Expo

The Scrapbook Expo in Pleasanton is this Friday and Saturday, and  I will be in the Close To My Heart booth. I have been spending the last few days getting ready. The Cricut is running full steam. I just love the Art Philosophy Cartridge for the Cricut. I use it constantly. Practically every project. Really, every paper crafter should have a Cricut and the Art Philosophy Cartridge.

It is just amazing!  My make and take for the Expo uses 2 cuts with this cartridge.

I used the Pemberley paper cut with CTMH's Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge as well Colonial White card stock. The Card Word Puzzle stamp is used for the stem in olive ink and the "for you" in outdoor denim. I sponged the edges of the card with outdoor denim also. The flower is from the Paradise Paper Flower pack.

I will be running the Make and Take table twice on Friday. Other times I will working the register or talking with people. Please be sure to come by and say hello while you are in the Expo. I would love to see some friends.

We are not charging for our Make and Takes, just asking for a donation to Operation Smile. Such a wonderful charity-- helping kids with facial deformities all over the world.

I am very proud to support this organization. Thinking about babies who can't nurse because of a cleft lip upsets me. But in a small way, I am helping these little ones.  If you would like to make a donation, go to https://cathryn.myctmh.com/Retail/RetailLanding.aspx?PageId=184. There is a spot on the left hand side for Operation Smile.

Back to the Expo-- I will be ready Friday morning for a fun filled two days of scrapbooking products.  Hope to see some of you there!

A post from another Blogger

I found this blog that had a whole posted dedicated to Close To My Heart. It's http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2012/03/close-to-my-heart.html.

I was really excited. I look at a lot of scrapbooking and card making blogs, many of which are Close To My Heart consultants. However, this one is not. She is just a crafter who loves Close To My Heart. Nice! I really like the cards she posted and thought I'd pass them along. Jennifer uses the Typeset paper pack. The embellishments are the Typeset Complements Canvas Shapes. The name is spelled out using the Cork Alphabet.  How easy is that to put together! But they don't look like quick cards. I love it.

Jennifer seems to have some good ideas, and I will have to check out her blog again. Do you have any favorite blogs? Please let me know.

Hello!
I am pleased to have the wonderful folks at Close To My Heart as an invited sponsor here in on my blog. If you have been to my blog before, you know that I love companies in this industry who have big hearts full of generosity. Well, CTMH is one of them. A good example? This pregnancy hasn’t been super easy on this old body of mine. And a few months ago, I got a card in the mail from the sweet folks at CTMH… signed by many of them. That is classy. What’s not to love?
I had used Close To My Heart a lot in the past (you can see an album I created HERE and HERE, and a layout HERE.) and was excited to use it again a few weeks ago. I used a great set of papers and embellishments from them for these cards. They came together so easily! Colin has loved getting them whenever he does something new and big at school…

He adores getting these, especially when they are personalized. Love the CTMH cork letter stickers…

And another…

Fun, huh? Those embellishments are canvas-y. Love.
