For Always Layout

Every January and every July, we lose some Close To My Heart products. I hate when my favorite products are discontinued but it does make way for more fun products.

Here is one of my favorite paper packs.

The For Always paper pack is such a classy set. I have used it on formal layouts like this one. But it also works on casual layouts. Unfortunately, this is one of those paper packs that will be discontinued at the end of this month. I just ordered one more pack, just in case.

Also on this layout, I used a strip of the For Always textiles. Textiles on your layouts add another dimension. I love adding the textiles to layouts and cards. I covered an entire album with these textiles making it a fabric covered album.

Another embellishment I used was the Silver Shimmer Trim. We have sheets of shimmer paper but when I worked on this page at a crop, I had forgotten to bring it with me. So, one each of the three flags, I put two strips together. For the middle one, I decided it would be nice if it was a different color so I used a marker and colored it black. Perfect.

Now, this paper is going away but new products are coming. I have just received a box and haven't had a chance to look at them. I can't wait to get into that box and start playing. Soon I will be posting pictures of the new things. On February 1, you will be able to order all the new things.

Have fun with paper today!

Birthday Card Using For Always Paper

I made this quick birthday card using For Always paper. My niece loves blue so I sponged the white part of the paper with twilight ink. I also used the glitter paper (black and grey set) and the Perfect Fit Birthday stamp set.

Perfect Fit Birthday stamp set is a great birthday set. For just $9.95, it is well worth the price. I have used it several times already with plans for more. I am really getting my money's worth.

I made this card as part of the Mojo Monday challenge.

Take out some stamps and paper and have fun with paper today!

Congratulations Card

This Congrats card is made using the For Always Paper Pack. I also used some cranberry paper and daisy white paper. The stamp is from the For Always Workshop on the Go Card kit. Nice stamp set in that kit. The whole kit makes some wonderful cards and well worth the money. I stamped it using pigment ink so I could color in the "Congrats" using an alcohol maker. If I used the dye ink (which is the standard ink), the black might smear. Using the pigment ink allowed the ink to stamp put. The last touch to this card is the fabric skirt. I love using the For Always Textiles! It adds a little something to the card.

Next I need to make a few Mother's Day cards. That will be fun too. Hope you are having fun with paper today!

Making My Own Album

Well, it has been over a week since I have posted. So sorry about that. Things have been quite hectic and my paper crafting has had to take a back seat. I won't bore you with the details of my pipe bursting and my illness. Just know that things are looking up. I am feeling better- slowly but surely- and my bathroom will soon be back in use. Plus I am headed to a National Scrapbook Day crop with Scrapbook U tomorrow which makes me very happy.

I wanted to share with you my new album. Last year, I worked on a picture a day, creating a 365 day album. Granted I didn't get a picture everyday, but I did come close. And I am not finished putting that album together.  That project was a tough one to keep up on.

So, this year, I decided to have a picture of the week and make a project 52 album. I had ideas of taking a binder that I found at Michaels and adding pictures using many of the papers in the binder.  Well, I didn't like that. I tried different things and realized no-- I need a change.  I have been working on a page per week with one picture and a list of what we did that week. That has been looking really good. But I hated the look of the binder-- which is really funny since I loved it when I bought it last Christmas.  Time to change the look of the binder.

Here's the binder. I decided to cover it with the new For Always fabric.

Liquid Glass is a wonderful adhesive. I holds everything - even ribbons and fabric.

Next I added some of the For Always Paper Pack to the inside...

and the out.

I added a touch of black ribbon I had on hand to cover the line from the white printed paper to the black printed fabric.  Now I am really happy with my binder.

I have the first 10 weeks of the year in the binder and ready to work on more this weekend. I think I need to add some sort of title to the front. But I really like the look right now I hate to make any more changes.

Covering this binder was quick, easy, and fun. Give it a try and have fun with paper today.
